as a small child, one of my favorite books was nick bantock's masterpiece "griffin and sabine."
i loved it so much that i named a stuffed dolphin that my grandpa sam and his rad wife helen bought me at age 12. to this day, griffin can be seen with his dorsal fin sticking out from under my sheets, in a suitcase when traveling, or tucked under my chin if i'm asleep.
griffin, i heart you.
